Some Celtic fans have been discussing a tweet that former Hoops player Chris Sutton recently posted.
Sutton’s tweet concerned the SPFL’s latest announcement about the conclusion of the 2019/20 season in Scotland’s second, third, and fourth tiers. Sutton said that he has got “sympathy” for Partick Thistle and Stranraer regarding their relegation, before going on to claim that them going down is a “better option” than many other clubs “going bust”.
Many Celtic fans have been responding to this tweet to talk about the SPFL’s decision. They had a variety of things to say about it.
The spfl knew this.
Imagine they accepted said ‘firewalled’ email?
Clubs go bust … on circa 25% of ‘the clubs’ vote?
Common sense won.
But let’s not get bogged down with reality. ??

Is it fair to relegate Hearts, Partick Thistle and Stanraer?
They deserve to go down
We need to save them
The serial victims won’t accept any sensible decision put forward. We’ll I will just ignore them then HH

I doubt there will be any relegation @chris_sutton73 . It is very likely that we will get reconstruction that with two teams up and no relegation in any league. Bora and kelty making up the numbers.

I think thistle and Hearts should have a look at themselves and ask why they are bottom after 79% of the games played.Hearts last game was a defeat to st mirren in a “must win game”

What do we think?
While the SPFL’s statement doesn’t share much positive news for clubs like Partick Thistle and Stranraer, the Guardian have reported that they have still got hope.
They have stated that those two clubs, as well as Hearts, have got an “element of hope” as reconstruction talks could still be held which might see those clubs avoid relegation.
As for Celtic, the Hoops have been on an unbeaten run in the Premiership in 2020 (via Transfermarkt). This has helped them to gain a 13-point lead at the top of the table. That may be enough to say that they have earned the Premiership title.
