Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest update that First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has provided about football in Scotland.
Sturgeon was recently talking at her daily briefing, where she revealed that the possibility of football returning behind closed doors will be ‘carefully considered’ and that fans should not expect the games to resume ‘anytime soon’ (via BBC Sport).
BBC Sport Scotland later relayed these comments on Twitter. This got many Celtic fans talking as they debated how the season could potentially be finished.
Celtic champions. Hearts down. End the season as it stands, only fair way.

Why not just play out games until everyone has played each other three times? Final standings. It only like two or three games each.

The Daily Record also relayed this information on Twitter. Celtic fans rushed to that as well, with fans mocking the publication’s ‘exclusive’ announcement.

Celtic are currently 13 points clear at the top of the table. The Premiership season was suspended just days before the Old Firm derby. The suspension has now been extended until at least the second week of June (via BBC Sport).
What do we think?
Sturgeon’s comments suggest that football might not be close to resuming in the near future. And considering the pandemic situation, fans should cautious about it and know that football should only come back when it is completely safe for it to happen.
