Some Celtic fans have been discussing a tweet that former player John Hartson recently posted.
He asked another former Hoops player Simon Donnelly about who the better player was out of former Hoops Paul Lambert and Stiliyan Petrov.
While the question was posed to Donnelly, this debate left many Celtic fans discussing who the better player was. Many of them said that Lambert was better.
Not even a debate, Lambert was far superior to Petrov and Petrov was an incredible player

Two fantastic players. Petrov more dynamic. Lambert read the game so well. Very difficult choice. I’d edge towards Lambert, if only for the fact he won a C.L.??

100% Lambert

Who was a better player for Celtic?
Paul Lambert
Stiliyan Petrov
It is a tough one, but I’d have to say Lambert. He was outstanding

Petrov arrived from Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia in 1999 and left Celtic in 2006, leaving for Aston Villa.
As for Lambert, he was at Celtic for a little under eight years. He joined the club from Borussia Dortmund in November 1997 and was there till the summer of 2005, when he departed Parkhead for Livingston.
What do we think?
Hartson’s question is certainly a fair one, considering both the players had been at the club for a lengthy amount of time. But instead of comparing two players, perhaps they should cherish what each of them gave to the club. It would be a good way to honour their legacy.
