Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest news update involving their former player Didier Agathe.
Durham City AFC Academy’s Twitter account recently confirmed that Agathe is the new manager at Durham City and has also become the head of their academy. The post carried an image of Agathe playing in a Celtic shirt against Brazilian legend Ronaldinho.
On seeing this tweet, many Celtic fans were left raving. Some wished him well and recalled his time at Parkhead very fondly, congratulating Durham City on their appointment.
What a player he was for us. Fastest I’ve ever seen in the hoops. The first time he took off down the wing at CP, 60,000 people gasped!
And a good guy too. Best of luck at DCFC Didi!

Will Celtic fans support Durham now?
For sure
No chance
Fastest player I’ve ever seen in a Celtic shirt. Loved agathe when he came to us. Think he cost about 60 grand fae hibs after scoring something like 11 goals in 9 games for them. Talk about unreal value for money. Good luck bigman HH ???????????

Agathe was at Celtic for five years. He had joined the club from Hibernian in January 2001, leaving the club in 2006 (via Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
Hoops site CelticWiki, claims that Agathe had ‘tamed’ Ronaldinho during his playing days back in 2004. He has been described as someone who had a ‘dazzling run’ and ‘great acceleration’.
His abilities and how long he stayed at Parkhead explains why Celtic fans still have some respect for Agathe. Their comments suggest that they want him to succeed in his latest journey.
