It was recently announced that the French government has banned all sporting events, even behind closed doors, until September (via BBC Sport). It has since emerged that the country’s government officials are engaged in a lobbying effort with their partners in Germany, Italy, Spain and England so that none of the other top-five leagues restart (Le Parisien).
There are now growing fears that the Premier League’s ‘Project Restart’ could put England’s top flight at odds with their continental counterparts. Below shows how the Anfield faithful reacted to the story, as some suggested what the approach should be from the Premier League.
Mind their own business.

ask them to get lost

Maybe the French government can pay all season tickets, cover bets already placed and compensate all clubs if they are so bothered about everyone.

In your opinion, will the Premier League be forced to follow suit?
Yes
No
Premier league won’t follow suit, it’s all about the money in the prem, the clubs are desperate to not have those incomes streams cut by sky and bt. I’m saying it’s right but that’s the way I see it.

Purely a political move since the remaining big four countries are pushing forward with their plans. It may be the wrong decision but it’s too early to say. He doesn’t want to be in the minority that jumped the gun.

What the hell has it got to do with them?

What do we think?
It’s clear that the French government’s efforts aren’t appreciated by these Liverpool supporters. The last fixture the Reds were involved in took place on 11th March at Anfield when Jurgen Klopp’s side were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League. Liverpool are closing in on their first Premier League title and so we can assume, more than most, that they will be eager to resume the season as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.
