The former chief of the SFA Gordon Smith has proposed a restructure that would mean the current season would not have to be canceled due to the recent viral outbreak.
Smith told Sky Sports (as per the Daily Record): “I don’t think the season should be concluded yet, we should still wait and see if we have enough time to fit the games in.”
“I would divide the leagues up into three divisions of 14 with teams promoted that are currently in a position to be promoted but no team is relegated.
“It would only be for one season and plans could be put in place now for when football gets up and running again – it’s the best way forward and means the distribution of money can happen too.”
“We don’t know when it’s going to restart again so by having this structure for one season will help fulfill the leagues,” Smith added.
What have the Celtic faithful made of the 65-year-old’s suggestion?
Nobody listened to him when he was in charge so why listen now.

Looks more like he’s unveiling his new wig. Definitely a shorter fringe than the other one. Or maybe it’s the same one and he’s been to the Wigdresser ?

Tell Smith to go & sort out his own affairs – financial at least & leave Scottish football to those less biased than him.

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that these Celtic fans aren’t particularly interested in what Smith has to say on the matter with many pointing to his past as the reason they are opting to disregard his views.
Celtic are currently flying high at the top of the Scottish Premier League and are 13 points clear as things stand. The Bhoys are on course to win their ninth consecutive title if and when the season resumes. However, like most of European football at the moment, the fans and the clubs are in the dark regarding how we might proceed in a safe manner.
