When Spurs fans were asked on Twitter who they thought their worst signing from the last 10 years was, a lot of fans took the opportunity to nominate Tanguy Ndombele.

COYS.com asked fans for their nominations for the worst signing from the last decade and although predictable names such as Vincent Janssen and Roberto Soldado featured, a lot of fans seemed to think Ndombele was worth a shout. The 23-year-old Frenchman joined from Lyon in a club-record deal last summer but has regularly struggled with fitness and injury issues in his first season in the Premier League.

What is former Spurs defender Sol Campbell's real first name?

In his 19 appearances in the top flight so far this campaign, the French international, who is valued at £46.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), has averaged a disappointing 6.76 rating, so it is perhaps understandable why some fans feel he has not lived up to expectations.

Can Ndombele really be judged as one of the worst signings of the last decade?

A sample of tweets from Spurs fans discussing Ndombele and nominating him as the club’s worst signing from the last decade can be seen below.

These Spurs fans clearly feel that Ndombele is well worth a nomination, whilst this fan clearly had plenty of names he wanted to put forward.

What do we think?

Considering that Ndombele has struggled for game time this season, mostly due to his fitness issues, it is perhaps premature to judge him as one of the worst signings of the decade, and hopefully for the Lilywhites, he will start to come good when football resumes.
