Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some footage of Eric Dier, showing his strong tackle on Sergio Ramos whilst playing for the national side.
COYS.com shared the footage of Dier powerfully sliding in on the Real Madrid man during England’s 3-2 win against Spain back in October 2018. Although the footage shows the referee giving a foul, replays show that the Spurs man cleanly took the ball and was clearly shocked by the referee’s decision.
So far this season, the former Sporting Lisbon man has averaged a disappointing 6.63 rating for his performances in the Premier League and is was recently charged by the FA after he climbed into the stands following the Lilywhites FA Cup penalty defeat against Norwich last month. However, it seems as if fans loved this footage of the 26-year-old’s tackle for England from a couple of years ago.

These Spurs fans clearly loved the challenge from Dier and were quick to compliment the 26-year-old for his strong tackle.
What do we think?
The challenge from Dier is brilliant not only because it’s a clean tackle but also because it’s completely unnecessary. Hopefully, he will be able to produce similar moments to that when football resumes from its current suspension.
