Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing left-back Ben Davies and his role at the North London club.
A Spursy Podcast asked fans for their opinion on the left-back, which has attracted the attention of plenty of supporters of the North London club. Spurs signed the Welsh international from Swansea back in 2014 and he has gone on to make 181 appearances for the Lilywhites; contributing four goals and 17 assists (per Transfermarkt).
So far this season, the 26-year-old has made just nine appearances in the Premier League; averaging a disappointing 6.67 rating. However, he did miss a significant period of the season after suffering an ankle injury in November.
Is Davies good enough to be a regular starter at Spurs?

Please get rid of him, we’re never gonna get better & win anything with players like Davies – so when we don’t then Don’t moan about no trophies

He is a useful squad player who can come in on some occasions and do a job, but in all seriousness he should be nowhere near the first 11.

One of the worst full backs we’ve ever had. Absolutely useless in every department. Davies sums up what’s wrong with our squads. Inadequate

State of our team mate – another player that wasn’t good enough to start 3 seasons ago, yet he is still here and now first choice

These Spurs fans clearly don’t rate Davies too highly, with many bemoaning the fact that he is still part of the squad.
What do we think?
Davies, who is valued at £15.75 million (as per Transfermarkt), has struggled this season and with Danny Rose seemingly on his way out of the club, having joined Newcastle United on loan in January, Spurs arguably need to bring in another left-back if they don’t want Davies as their first-choice next season.
