Timo Werner is ‘ready to sign for Liverpool’ if they pay his £52m release clause before it expires on 15th June, according to Sky Sports. However, it’s understood that at present, the Reds have no intentions of signing the RB Leipzig forward prior to the specified date.
The German international striker has been a revelation this season, scoring 21 goals and providing seven assists in just 25 Bundesliga appearances (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). Werner has recently described Jurgen Klopp as the ‘best coach in the world’ and believes his style of play might be a ‘good fit’ for the Premier League leaders.
What have the Anfield faithful made of this latest update?

Are the club right to hold fire on the Timo Werner deal?
Yes
No
I think this indicates that FSG will not make any major signings this summer, David Ornstein did say that FSG will only start making signings once Liverpool start slipping down the league. This proves it. FSG are all about maximising the profit no more.

What do we think?
Some of these Liverpool fans are surprised the club are seemingly not interested in signing the player for £52m, which is perhaps justified when taking into account his market value according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, which currently stands at £57.6m, and his highly impressive goalscoring record this year. Others believe the financial impact caused by the current health crisis is why the Reds may be reluctant to do any significant transfer deals at this time.
