Spurs fans have been discussing Tanguy Ndombele after it was suggested that Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff at the north London club still feel he has the potential to be a key part of the squad.
According to Football.london journalist Alasdair Gold (via Ricky Sacks), Mourinho and his staff still believe in the French international, despite his disappointing debut campaign. The 23-year-old has only averaged a 6.76 rating for his performances in the Premier League, with regular fitness issues meaning he has completed 90 minutes just three times in the top flight so far this season.
Despite this, the former Lyon man has been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks, and considering Mourinho’s comments about the midfielder following the 1-1 draw with Burnley in March, it perhaps wouldn’t have been a surprise to see him depart this summer. However, the report from Gold seems to suggest that Spurs are keen to keep hold of the Frenchman ahead of next season.
Do you think Ndombele will become a key part of Mourinho's squad next season?
Yes

We all know he could be the next Yaya but he’s got to put the effort in both on and off the field. I’ve enjoyed watching him 60% of the time, the other 40% not so much

If we let him leave it’ll be deviating… It can’t happen.

It’s Quiet simple he has huge potential but has lots of work to get to the pace and physicality of the prem I’d like to give him a pre season and see where is. But if Barca offer big an Jose told he has to sell to build he will be sold a Frosty start to his relationship with Jose

These Spurs fans seem to agree that Ndombele has a lot of potential and will be hoping that he goes on to become a key part of Mourinho’s squad next season.
What do we think?
Although it has been a disappointing first season in England for Ndombele so far, his performances in the Champions League – where he averaged an impressive 7.34 rating – suggests that Spurs have a quality player on their books, so fans may just have to be patient until he really settles in the Premier League.
