Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly after he became the latest player to be linked with a move to the Lilywhites.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio on Sky Sports (via Daily Hotspur), the defender could be one of the North London club’s ‘most important targets’ this summer. He adds that Daniel Levy and his agent have a ‘very good feeling’ about a possible move.
So far this season, the Senegalese defender has averaged a slightly disappointing 6.78 rating for his performances in Serie A, however, he was superb in Napoli’s Champions League campaign, averaging a 7.43 rating (per WhoScored). The 28-year-old is currently valued at £50.4 million by Transfermarkt, so it would be a huge transfer for the Lilywhites if they were able to bring him to North London this summer.

Would be a great signing and cement a great marker but I don’t trust our chairman to follow through

Just give them Dele and deal

Would be an incredible boost to our team. Surely his price will only go down from 29-years-old so might be able to save some cash

These Spurs fans are clearly excited about the potential of signing Koulibaly in the summer transfer window.
What do we think?
Spurs are arguably in need of a centre-back, considering Jan Vertonghen looks set to leave in the summer with his contract expiring, but it is difficult to see Spurs shelling out upwards of £50 million on a 28-year-old Koulibaly, especially in the current economic climate.
