Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice after it was suggested that Tottenham could be open to offering Eric Dier as part of a potential deal for the 21-year-old this summer.
According to 90Min, the Lilywhites are keen on signing the defensive midfielder ahead of next season in a deal that could potentially see Dier head in the opposite direction. Ricky Sacks has subsequently shared this news with fans on Twitter, with many Spurs fans keen to share their thoughts on the potential transfer.
So far this season, the young midfielder has averaged a solid 6.95 rating across his 29 appearances in the Premier League (per WhoScored). Dier, meanwhile, has only averaged a 6.63 rating in his 14 appearances in the top flight, suggesting that based off this year’s form at least, Spurs would be getting the better player in any potential swap deal.
Who would you rather have starting in defensive-midfield?
Eric Dier
Declan Rice
Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported interest in Rice can be seen in the tweets below.
Overrated because he’s English and he thinks Spurs are a joke, why would we get him

These Spurs fans clearly aren’t keen on a move for Rice this summer and will be hoping that the transfer rumours are not genuine.
What do we think?
Based on stats from this season, Rice would arguably be a good signing for Spurs, as he is also five years younger than 26-year-old Dier, however, he is currently valued at £44.55 million by Transfermarkt, so perhaps Spurs would be better off looking elsewhere.
