Fans of West Ham United have taken to social media to air their thoughts on the Hammers’ board after touted player sales.
After the Telegraph reported that Declan Rice could be sold by the Hammers ‘to raise funds’, fans began discussing the board on social media (via @WHUFCFZ).
Surely all this talk of a selling players to raise money means that the board have lied when they've said the club is in a good financial state, and also means that they aren't as good businessmen as they'd have you believe.

Don’t think anyone believed they were good businessmen

They are and have always been in it for themselves. They don’t care.

They’re out of their depth and shouldn’t b anywhere near a football club that gets 60k + crowds ! Ambition fills big stadiums, it’s why usually it’s the top clubs that play in them, they don’t have any ambition!

Would the Hammers have fewer financial problems under a different ownership?Yes, it's all their faultNo, it's not their fault |
David Gold and David Sullivan first took over the London club in 2010, when they purchased 50% of the club with ‘an option to acquire the remaining 50%’ (per The Guardian).
Since 2010, though, the duo has taken their holding to above 85% (per football.london). However, supporters could not help but air their dissatisfaction with the pair.
The club still is in a good financial state, look at the clubs arounf us not complaining about it being that bad.. yet we’re either still in or not far off europe’s top 20 rich list? And needing to sell our whoek club to stabilize? They just want excuses to keeo their £

It must be all that money they have spent on the stadium…..

It would appear that West Ham(one of the richest clubs in prem) are the only club talking about selling their best players.

What do we think?
As can be seen in the responses from West Ham supporters, they appear to be incredibly disgruntled with the suggestion that a key player may be leaving the club.
However, @ExWHUemployee had already stated in a podcast that the club is feeling the impact of the current viral outbreak and may be in financial trouble when the situation is over (via @WHUFCFZ), which would suggest player sales may be a sensible option.
