Spurs fans on Twitter have been discussing Serge Aurier and his career so far with the North London club.
A Spursy Podcast asked fans for their opinions on the Ivory Coast international, who joined the Lilywhites from PSG in 2017. In nearly three years at the club, the defender has made just 74 appearances for the North London club, often playing second fiddle to Kieran Trippier until the England international joined Atletico Madrid in the summer.
So far this season, the 27-year-old has been Spurs’ third-best performer in the Premier League; averaging an impressive 7.18 rating for his displays in the top flight. However, it seems as if, from the responses to the tweet, a lot of Spurs fans would not be upset to see him move on this summer.
What are your thoughts on Aurier?
He's a decent player
He's awful
A sample of tweets from Spurs fans discussing Aurier can be seen below.
Poch deserved to be sacked for signing this numpty – 3 foul throws in 1 game – i rest my case

Huge liability. He’s a walking red card and likely to give away a pen every game. Absolutely lunatic!

Hopeless, get rid.

Complete liability. Spurs means nothing to him, the worst type of Mercenary footballer straight out the Adebayor mould. Would love to know who advised us to buy him. Right back progression over 3 years Walker – Trippier- Aurier – a microcosm of the club

These Spurs fans clearly don’t rate Aurier, with many hoping to see the club ‘get rid’ of the Ivorian in the near future.
What do we think?
These Spurs fans are perhaps being quite harsh on Aurier considering his strong average rating so far this season, although Mourinho has reportedly suggested to the 27-year-old that he believes he can become one of the best in the world in his position, so it doesn’t seem like he will be leaving anytime soon.
