Fans of Tottenham have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claim Spurs have joined Chelsea in their interest of signing Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho this summer.
According to reports in the Mirror, Spurs have joined Chelsea in their interest in Barcelona’s Coutinho, who is surplus to requirements at the Spanish club, while Bayern Munich, where the Brazilian is currently on-loan, are reportedly unwilling to make his loan deal permanent.
In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Ricky Sacks on Twitter, fans of Spurs have flocked to share their opinion on the matter, with many claiming that their club would not be able to afford the midfielder, while others have suggested that Coutinho is not good enough for the current Tottenham side.

What do we think?
While many Spurs fans would appear to question, quite understandably, where the club would be getting the money from to sign a player like Coutinho, is it less easy to defend the point that Coutinho could not do well at Spurs.
In the £50.4million-rated midfielder’s 201 appearances for Liverpool, he scored 54 goals and provided 45 assists, proving that Coutinho has thrived in the Premier League before.
Although the 27-year-old has struggled slightly since moving to Barcelona, he has still managed to score 21 goals and provide 11 assists in his 76 appearances for the Spanish giants, as well as contributing eight goals and six assists in his 22 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern so far this season.
As such, it would appear that Coutinho has not dramatically declined in terms of his performances since his Liverpool days, and certainly has the potential to once again impress in the Premier League, be that for Tottenham or Chelsea.
