Spurs fans have been reacting on Twitter to the news that Tanguy Ndombele’s ‘dental problems’ is a reason for his poor performances this season.
According to French news outlet L’Equipe (via Talking THFC), the 23-year-old has been struggling with dental problems throughout the season, after Spurs’ medical staff failed to detect the problem during his medical last summer. The French international signed from Lyon last summer in a club-record deal but is yet to hit the heights expected of him for the North London club; having averaged a disappointing 6.76 rating across his 19 appearances in the top flight.
The young midfielder has struggled with fitness problems throughout the season, quoting fatigue as a reason for his half-time substitution against Sheffield United earlier in the season. Now, it seems as if these ‘dental problems’ were having an impact on Ndombele’s fitness and therefore you hope that the problem will be fixed by the time the Premier League resumes from its current suspension.
Do you believe that Ndombele's dental problems are the reason he can't get fit?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported news on Ndombele can be seen in the tweets below.
Clutching at straws this time… he’s just not got the fitness for this league and the fixtures. Obviously has talent, but for what we paid he should be grabbing hold of games and making the difference! Right now even an unfit Moussa Dembele would be preferable.

Unacceptable @SpursOfficial! Why is there no dental checks on medicals? Failed to detect? A ‘series’ of problems? What is going on! Get me in!Anything to change our season moving forward!

This is ridiculous,, a mid tier dentist can literally make you new teeth in a few hours. Unless he has teeth growing out of his knees I don’t buy this

These Spurs fans clearly aren’t too happy that this news is only emerging now and that the club has seemingly failed to do anything about his dental problems.
What do we think?
You would hope that if Ndombele is indeed having dental problems which are preventing him from reaching the fitness required to play in the Premier League, that the club will sort that problem and then perhaps we can start to see why they paid £54 million for the midfielder last summer.
