Sheffield United-focused Twitter account @Blades1889_com recently posted a tweet asking Blades supporters which team they enjoyed “beating the most in the Premier League” this season. This tweet has caught the attention of many Sheffield United fans.
Many of the Blades fans who have been responding to this tweet have named West Ham United as the team that they enjoyed earning all three points from more than any other thus far during the 2019/20 campaign.
Sheffield United earned a 1-0 win over the Hammers at Bramall Lane on 10 January. West Ham nearly earned a point late on in this contest, as explained by The BBC, when “Robert Snodgrass thought he had levelled for the visitors”. However, his goal was ultimately disallowed.

What do we think?
The fact that West Ham had a late equaliser ruled out in their 1-0 loss to Sheffield United back in January may have given a sense of relief to many Blades supporters at the end of this contest. However, when you also consider the history that exists between these two clubs, it may come as no surprise that Sheffield United’s win over West Ham stands out for some of the club’s fans.
West Ham and Sheffield United share a “detest for each other”, as stated by talkSPORT. This rivalry began after Carlos Tevez, who “was not eligible to play at the end of the 2006/07 season”, as explained by the BBC, “played a key role” in helping West Ham to avoid relegation from the Premier League that term.
The Hammers finished three points ahead of the Blades who, in 18th place, failed to secure Premier League survival that season.
With that in mind, it may be understandable why some Blades fans enjoyed beating West Ham back in January
