What do we think?
The proposed takeover of the Toon is currently with the Premier League going through the owners’ and directors’ test after a deposit was paid to Mike Ashley.
The Athletic’s George Caulkin believes that the Premier League will accept the takeover ‘very soon’, and this tweet from @KSA24 seems to have only increased the belief on Tyneside that the takeover will be announced soon.
The deal to sell the club will cost the consortium consisting of PIF, Amanda Staveley’s PCP, and the Reuben Brothers £300m.
Judging by the replies to this tweet, the excitement is building for an official announcement.
