A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from journalist Manu Lonjon, who claims that ‘positive progress’ on the proposed takeover was made on Monday.
Lonjon, who was one of the first reporters to tell of the recent breakthrough in Newcastle’s expected takeover with a tweet in early April, claimed recently that the deal was done, and this latest tweet suggested we are edging towards an official announcement.
This new update has pleased these Toon fans who are happy to hear that the deal is moving along.

What do we think?
The deal for Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium is now with the Premier League going through the owners and directors test.
A deposit has been paid to Mike Ashley, and contracts have been exchanged, which means that it is now up to the Premier League to green-light the deal.
If Lonjon’s post is to be believed, then there might have been some progress on that front on Monday.
Hopefully, for Newcastle fans, there is an announcement soon.
