A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a tweet from TV personality Greg Lake, who believes that the Premier League checks on the Toon’s proposed takeover are done and that the transfer of funds will take 48-72 hours.
He also states his belief that Rafael Benitez is set to make a return to the club.
Lake has tweeted about the takeover in recent weeks and claims that his source is a football lawyer.
On the 31st March, he tweeted that the takeover was happening and that Benitez would be returning as manager.
Then on the 15th April, he said that Gareth Bale would be a target for the new owners and now he has tweeted this.
However, judging by the replies, not many Newcastle fans believe him.
Do you believe this claim from Mr Lake?
Yes

What do we think?
Lake’s source was correct about Mike Ashley agreeing a deal to sell the club as a deposit has been paid, and the Premier League are going through their checks.
However, his other claims cannot be proven until the takeover is either approved or rejected by the Premier League.
It is clear, though, that Mr Lake’s tweet has not convinced many Toon fans.
