Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that City are weighing up paying Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez’s €111 million (£96.6 million) release clause.
According to reports in Italian publication Tuttosport (via SempreInter), Martinez’s reported release clause is only valid for the first two weeks of July for clubs outside of Italy, with Pep Guardiola’s side reportedly considering paying the fee.
In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Man City Xtra on Twitter, fans of the club have flocked to share their opinions on the matter, with many suggesting that they do not want their club to sign the forward, while others have stated their belief that current striker Gabriel Jesus is already better than Martinez.

What do we think?
While many City fans do not appear to want Martinez at their club, it is hard to argue that the Argentine is not an attractive prospect.
This season he has scored 11 Serie A goals in 22 appearances while averaging an impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.12.
In addition to this, the striker has performed even more admirably in the Champions League, scoring five goals in six fixtures, while averaging a match rating of 7.36.
As such, although it appears that the majority of City fans do not want to see their club make a move for the £57.6 million-rated man, Martinez has proved that he belongs at the very highest level of European football, be that with Manchester City or elsewhere.
