Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which highlights footage of former captain Vincent Kompany holding back the tears following one of his final games for the club.
The footage, which was originally posted on Twitter by Football Daily, highlights the aftermath of City’s 1-0 victory over Leicester City in May 2019 – a game in which Kompany scored a spectacular winner, with the former City captain appearing quite close to tears.

What do we think?
As is clear from their comments, Kompany is widely regarded as a City legend, and considering his stats with the club, it is not difficult to see why.
The centre-back played 360 games for Manchester City, scoring 20 goals and providing 11 assists, while helping City to win four Premier League titles, four League Cups, two FA Cups and two Community Shields.
As such, it is no wonder why so many fans of the club still hold Kompany in such high regard.
