A group of Liverpool fans have been discussing some footage from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Instagram account, shared via @SamuelLFC via Twitter, that will have been recorded shortly after the club’s UEFA Champions League triumph in June 2019.
The Reds defeated Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side in Madrid to win their sixth European Cup and the video captures the group, led by Oxlade-Chamberlain, paying tribute to Virgil van Dijk.
Here is how some of the fans have responded to the footage on the social media platform.
Try to watch without joining in with the song as well.

What do we think?
It’s clear from the above responses that these Liverpool supporters thoroughly enjoyed watching that footage back even almost a year later. Van Dijk has been an excellent signing for the Reds since he arrived from Southampton in January 2018 in a deal reportedly worth £76.19m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
His average performance rating in the Premier League this season currently stands at 7.4/10 according to WhoScored.com, making him the club’s third-most consistent player behind Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah – highlighting his importance.
