Liverpool fans have been drooling on Twitter over recently posted footage of former Reds defender Daniel Agger.
This comes after the official Twitter account for the UEFA Europa League shared a post on their page that included footage of a goal Agger scored for Liverpool in the competition back in 2010.
The goal in question came in Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat against Benfica a decade ago.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to share their thoughts on Agger and his Europa League goal.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to the post:

Is Daniel Agger a Liverpool club legend?
Yes
No
The footage shows Agger pulling off a superb backheel after a clever low cross from a Steven Gerrard free-kick to open the scoring in the match. During his eight and a half years at the Merseyside club, the Danish international made a total of 232 appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing nine assists along the way (per Transfermarkt). Now that the footage of one of Agger’s goals has resurfaced on Twitter once again, this gave lots of Liverpool fans the chance to share their feelings towards their former defender.

What do we think?
Agger’s goal against Benfica was a fantastic piece of skill for a defender to pull off successfully. The replies to this post from the Liverpool fans just go to show how appreciated and well-liked Agger still is on Merseyside despite him leaving the club back in 2014.
