Alexander Sorloth has opened up regarding the difficulties he has faced since signing for Crystal Palace. The centre-forward joined the London club from FC Midtjylland in January 2018 in a deal reportedly worth £8.1m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk).
Since his arrival, Sorloth has made just 20 appearances for the Eagles, scoring one goal and providing one assist. The left-footed forward joined KAA Gent on loan in January 2019 before returning to the club that summer and in August he made his way to Turkey to join Trabzonspor who have an obligation to purchase the player with conditions in 2021.
Speaking to the TV2 Premier League podcast, he spoke of his disappointment at the lack of opportunities thrown his way by the club and here’s what some of the fans have had to say in response to the interview.
Can’t argue with that, perfectly good goal ruled out and his confidence was shot

i’d love him to have one more shot in the team as shown by his form in turkey but i feel we’ve already seen his last game for palace sadly

However, some Crystal Palace fans were less sympathetic towards Sorloth’s account of events.
Do you agree with Sorloth's comments?
Yes
No
He has to be mentally tougher than that to be an EPL player. Especially a striker. Everyone is gunning for your spot.

I don’t remember him having one good game in any that he played

What do we think?
Sorloth has scored 19 goals and provided 6 assists in Trabzonspor’s 26 Turkish Super Lig fixtures this season. His current side are top of the league and he has certainly proven that he is a competent goalscorer. Compare that to the returns of Jordan Ayew and Christian Benteke who have scored just nine league goals between them this term and you have to understand where the 24-year-old is coming from.
