Some Leicester City supporters have been reacting positively to a tweet that was recently posted by Foxes-focused Twitter account @LCFCHQ, which has shared that some Leicester City players have allegedly “advised the club they are willing to take a pay cut” amid the current postponement of English football.

As confirmed in a statement from the Premier League on 13 March, professional football in England was officially postponed due to the current viral outbreak. It was later confirmed that English football would face postponement “until at least 30 April”.

It may be fair to say that the disruption to professional football in England may result in a period of financial difficulty for some clubs, due to the temporary absence of matchday revenue with no fixtures set to be played in the immediate future.

The Daily Express has recently reported that “some Premier League players have indicated that they are willing to take a pay cut to help out other employees at their respective clubs”, which could add weight to the claims from @LCFCHQ.

Considering that football clubs may encounter some financial problems amid the postponement of English football, it may be understandable why some Foxes supporters have been reacting positively to these recent rumours that some of their players have indicated a willingness to temporarily accept less pay in order to help their club.
