Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest comments from former Villan Martin Laursen.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @astonforza shared a post on their page relaying Laursen’s comments originally from the Birmingham Mail’s Claret & Blue podcast.
In the podcast, Laursen revealed that Villa is his club and the club where his heart is. He also added that he would consider working for the Birmingham club in a management role if they wanted him someday.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were excited by this idea.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:
Laursen: " Villa for me is my club, that's where I have my heart. so obviously if I start doing something here (management) and start to prepare for a big job I would obviosuly consider Villa if they wanted me some day." #avfc pic.twitter.com/33yfMoYP4u

Would welcome Martin with open arms someday. Even now if it worked in some capacity with Deano – perhaps he’s the real missing link we need as defensive coach !!! ??

I’d let John Terry go and put Laursen in his position in the blink of an eye. Terry has one love, Chelsea.

Would you want to see Martin Laursen manage Villa one day?
Yes
No
According to the official Aston Villa website, Laursen was made captain of the club ahead of the 2008/09 campaign, before adding that he was a “colossus at the heart of the defence as Villa broke into the top four and made progress in the UEFA Cup.”
Now that Lausen’s comments on his intentions to take up a managerial role at the club at some point in the future have emerged on Twitter, this has sparked a big reaction from these Villa fans.
Laursen would run through a brick wall for Villa. Mellburg bought every fan a shirt at the West Ham game. Chester risked everything to play through the pain, I’m sure Jack does the same. These are the people you want at a club

Best player to ever wear the shirt.

What do we think?
It’s nice to see that Laursen still has a lot of love for the club and wants to give something back to them in his managerial career. The response from these Villa fans just goes to show that they would love to have him in the dugout at Villa Park in the future.
