Some fans of Everton have labelled Andrei Kanchelskis as the most exciting signing that the Toffees have ever made.
On Friday, Liverpool Echo journalist Adam Jones posed the question over which player fans were most excited about at the time of their signing and this had many fans naming Kanchelskis.
A bit of a lunchtime question for you all – what is the most excited you've ever been for an Everton signing? Whether they lived up to it or not
This man surely is up there? pic.twitter.com/zAnx838Prc

Andrei Kanchelskis, he was world class when we bought him

Kanchelskis.

Kanchelskis was definitely the most exciting signing I can remember. He was a first teamer for the best team in the country and a proper edge of the seat player. Amokachi was an exciting signing at the time but I’m old enough now to realise a good World Cup doesn’t make a player

Have Everton ever made a signing that was more exciting than Andrei Kanchelskis? No, he was the most excitingYes, but I think it's a close one |
The 51-year-old former midfielder signed for the Toffees in the summer of 1995 from Manchester United. However, he was only situated in Merseyside for a season and a half as he departed for Fiorentina in early 1997 (per Transfermarkt).
However, after Adam Jones posed the question to supporters on social media, fans continued naming Kanchelskis as the most exciting signing ever despite his relatively short stay at Goodison Park.
Kanchelskis for me. Couldn’t believe we got him. Lukaku is up there too.

Kanchelskis is the one that springs to mind.

Kancheskis, the team we were at the time, where he was coming from, to get him was some deal.

Mine was Kanchelskis. I never knew how we got him but he was unreal for us.

What do we think?
Having paid £6.75 million to secure the Russian’s services in 1995 (per Transfermarkt), it perhaps comes as no surprise that he was the signing that has excited Everton fans the most.
With 20 goals in 52 appearances for the Toffees (per Transfermarkt) too, it seems likely that the signing was one that did not disappoint.
