Aston Villa fans have flocked to Twitter to respond to the latest reported news surrounding the future of the Premier League.
This comes after Villa-focused Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying news originally published in an article from The Athletic by Adam Crafton and David Ornstein.
The article claims that Premier League executives are “increasingly fearful they have nowhere left to turn to salvage the current campaign ahead of a crunch video conference between the 20 sides on Friday afternoon”.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were quick to share their immediate reactions to this news.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:

Obviously as a villa fan I want the season to be voided. We have had a free season for the team to gel and when it starts again we should know our best selection and formation

Would you want the season to end now or continued later?
End it now
Resume it later
Due to the current global pandemic, all professional English football has been suspended indefinitely. Now that it has been reported that the Premier League authorities are struggling to come up with a solution that would see the current campaign ended sufficiently, this has caused a big stir on Twitter and gathered a lot of reaction from these Villa fans.
Good.

What do we think?
From a Villa point of view, it’s understandable why these fans would want the season to end because it could potentially save the club from returning to the Championship as they currently sit in the relegation zone.
