A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to a post from Beren Cross as he suggested that the Whites are well-placed for promotion – if the EFL follow the same route as Belgium and the RFU.

It has been recommended that Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League is ended with the current standings remaining how they are – with Club Brugge poised to become champions.

Against which team did Leeds record their biggest home win?

This followed the decision by the RFU to cancel all rugby except the Gallagher Premiership, and their subsequent call to promote current Championship leaders Newcastle Falcons on a ‘best playing record formula’ basis. Cross mentions the RFU in his piece, and his tweet has attracted the attention of many Leeds fans.

What do we think?

This is an interesting point made by Cross, and if the EFL decide to follow this new precedent, then Leeds will be playing in the Premier League next season.

Do you think the EFL will copy the RFU?

However, both the EFL and Premier League want to finish the season, and if they decide to do that, then Leeds are still in a good position considering they are seven points clear of third-placed Fulham.

The only option that would be bad for the Whites will be if the season is voided – which is thought to be one of the potential conclusions that could be undertaken in the coming weeks.

We think this could be a devastating blow to the Whites, and they could have to fight for promotion from scratch again.
