Spurs fans have been venting their frustrations with club chairman Daniel Levy after it was revealed that the Tottenham Hotspur staff were made aware of their pay cut just 30 minutes before Levy shared the news with the media.

According to the Telegraph (via Talking THFC), the chairman told staff that they would receive a 20% pay cut, which allows the government to cover their wages on the current furlough scheme, just half an hour before he made the news public. The club announced earlier this week that non-playing staff at the club would receive 80% of their wages for April and May, whilst playing staff would continue to receive their full wage.

In the announcement, Levy suggests that the club will continue to review that decision, so we can only hope that the players take a voluntary pay cut to ensure that the non-playing staff continue to earn their full wage.

These Spurs fans are clearly not impressed with Levy’s recent actions.

What do we think?

It is disgraceful that a club the size of Tottenham Hotspur, recently named eighth on the club rich list, is furloughing its non-playing staff while players continue to take 100% of their salaries.
