Some West Brom fans have been praising centre-back Semi Ajayi on social media, with one Baggies supporter suggesting that the 26-year-old’s performances have gone “under the radar” at times this season.
West Brom’s official club Twitter account shared some praise of their own for the Nigerian international, recently making a post to hail the defender’s “impressive” performance against Swansea City last Saturday.
While second-placed West Brom could only earn a draw versus 11th-placed Swansea City last weekend, Ajayi may personally take some solace in the fact that he and his fellow Baggies defenders kept a clean sheet, with the game finishing 0-0.
Ajayi successfully won one tackle, in addition to one aerial duel in last Saturday’s Championship fixture. Furthermore, the centre-back also completed a total of 52 accurate passes versus Swansea City. Only Romaine Sawyers played a higher total of accurate passes than Ajayi last weekend.
Some West Brom supporters have also been gushing over their Nigerian centre-back on social media following his performance at the Liberty Stadium. Read the positive posts from some Baggies supporters who have recently been swooning over Ajayi in the tweets below.

Less than £2million & he’s been an absolute colussus, he goes under the radar sometimes but one of the best signings we made in my opinion ?

Semi Ajayi’s performances had subsided at the start of the new year and that mini break he had at the end of January has seemed to have improved his performances significantly. Since his return to the team, we have had 5 clean sheets in 8 games and only lost once. #WBA

What do we think?
Ajayi has played a total of 3150 minutes of Championship football this season, according to WhoScored.com. Only Jake Livermore and Sam Johnstone have played a higher number of minutes than the centre-back so far during the 2019/20 league campaign.
He has also earned an average overall rating of 6.90 from his 35 Championship appearances this season, according to WhoScored. Only six West Brom players have earned a higher average overall rating than Ajayi has in the Championship this season.
Having featured regularly for West Brom this season, in addition to delivering consistent performances, it may be understandable why some West Brom fans have been impressed by the 26-year-old this season.
