Rangers have officially lost their first back-to-back games of the season after failing to take a point away from their match against Hamilton Academical. The side went into the match coming off the back of a Scottish Cup loss against Hearts.
The game was won by Hamilton in the 56th minute after David Moyo capitalised on some miscommunication between Connor Goldson and James Tavernier.
The loss is even more frustrating for Gers fans considering Celtic dropped points in the league after drawing with Livingston last night. Celtic haven’t dropped points in the league since losing to Rangers during the last Old Firm.
Gers fans aired their grievances with Tavernier after the match on Twitter. There are many who would be quite happy to never see the captain wear a Rangers shirt again.

Tavernier and Goldson should never wear a Rangers jersey again.

Would replacing Tavernier as captain fix things at Rangers?
Yes, of course!
Sadly not.
Others call him an unfit captain, questioning why he has let the dressing room lose focus over the last couple of matches.
@James_Tavernier your a joke of a captain what has happened to dressing room

I’ll eat humble pie on this. I’ve debated with a number of people on here over the course of the last few seasons.
James Tavernier is a decent player. He’s been a good servant to the club considering what he cost us.
But he’s never a Rangers captain.

@RangersFC @James_Tavernier pass this on to the rest of the team Tav Shocking pic.twitter.com/WCtkoZcHGq

Goldson and Tavernier shameful and embarrassing. Not good enough and never have been.

Really wish a club would come in and take Tavernier & Goldson on free transfers, no fight whatsoever and that’s the captain and vice-captain. An embarrassment to the jersey & stealing a wage, won’t be back at Ibrox until their gone.@James_Tavernier @connorgoldson @RangersFC

What do we think?
The Gers have now dropped 13 points behind Celtic in the league after being handed a prime opportunity to close the gap.
Tavernier’s only hope to lift silverware this season will be in the UEFA Europa League. However, with the side’s current form, that seems like an unlikely achievement.
