Rangers managed to beat Ross County yesterday after Ryan Kent scored the game’s only goal. It was a result that ended a run of two games without a win in the league.
However, the Gers thought they should have had a chance to score a goal from the penalty spot earlier in the match after a low-driven Matt Polster cross appeared to have caught the arm of Liam Fontaine (1:02).
Should the Gers have been awarded a penalty in this instance?
Yes
No
Had the referee or linesman awarded the penalty, it could have resulted in a second yellow card for Fontaine, who received a caution in the 12th minute of the match.
Rangers fans were left angered. Some supporters took to Twitter where they aired their grievances. Here is what they had to say.
Only used one arm to drag it out of play, it’s a close one

Again, referees in Scotland are useless

That’s a red, never mind a second yellow, deliberately blocking the ball from entering the centre of the goal?

Another stonewaller

Another poor decision going against us but, I’m sure our luck with the Officials will get better against Celtic.

Train your linesmen better @ScottishFA

What do we think?
At the end of the day, the poor refereeing didn’t cost Rangers the win.
But the fans are clearly frustrated with the standard of refereeing that their side has faced this season.
The side will turn their focus towards Bayer Leverkusen, who they face in the UEFA Europa League this week. The Scottish Premiership referees won’t be able to put the Gers at a disadvantage in this match.
