This week Rangers fans looked back on a highlight from when Gary Stevens scored a brilliant chip against Motherwell. The goal was a lovely little dink over the oncoming Motherwell goalkeeper, that ricocheted off the post and into the net.
The highlight was shared on Rangers’ official Twitter on Friday to celebrate the player’s birthday.
Many fans recalled the player with fond memories, claiming that he is the best right-back they have ever seen play for the club. He played for Rangers between 1988 and 1994 before moving to Tranmere Rovers, where he eventually retired in 1998.
The supporters praised the defender, labelling him as a club legend.

What do we think?
It is evident, from the fan responses, that Stevens is remembered fondly by the Rangers faithful. His exploits from the right-back position have earned him legendary status at the Glasgow club.
Rangers captain James Tavernier will be hoping that he too can achieve such heights with the Gers, despite him getting on the fans’ bad side earlier in the month.
