While a match against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday is on the minds of many Rangers fans, some have their minds elsewhere.
On Twitter, @TrueBluesLoyal shared a screenshot of @rangersontourofficial’s Instagram post. The claims came from The Sun (as per Daily Mail), and stated that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was considering a move to purchase a Scottish team. The move would happen to assist the Russian businessman ‘skip past a new measure brought into play by FIFA’.
Would you like to see Roman Abramovich buy Rangers?
Yes
No
The post then asked fans if they would like to see the move happen.
Most Rangers fans responded to the tweet negatively, claiming that they don’t want to see this move play out. They reckon that Abramovich would be interested in purchasing Rangers for the wrong reasons. Others claim that the move could hinder Rangers’ chances of playing in Europe.
Doing it for the wrong reasons.

He can’t with rangers simples, because both play in European competitions it’s not allowed.

Sounds to me liked it’d just be used to the benefit of Chelsea.

No. We’re not becoming a Russians loop hole.

Means we couldn’t play in the same European competition as Chelsea. It’s a massive no from me.

Dont think it’s set out with rangers in mind. We would be a feeder club who couldn’t play in the same competition as chelsea. Absolutely no thanks.

What do we think?
We aren’t sure if these rumours have any truth to them. However, there is no smoke without fire.
If the rumours are true, it is clear that these Gers fans don’t want to see Abramovich take over their club.
