Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post by former City player Nigel de Jong, in which the 35-year-old tweeted a photo of himself, Joe Hart, David Silva, Joleon Lescott and Micah Richards.
De Jong, who currently plays for Al Shahania Sports Club, spent five seasons at Manchester City, making 137 appearances and scoring two goals.
The former Netherlands international was part of the famous City squad that won the club’s first Premier League title in the 2011/12 season, in which the defensive midfielder made 21 appearances.
In a recent post on Twitter, De Jong posted a photo of himself alongside several other members of that title-winning side, including Joe Hart, David Silva, Joleon Lescott and Micah Richards.
In reaction to the post, Manchester City fans took to social media, with some stating that was the City side that they fell in love with, while others claimed that De Jong was one of their favourite ever City players.

What do we think?
Nigel de Jong, along with the other City players in his photo, will likely live on forever in the minds of the Manchester City faithful.
Not only did that side defeat Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford, but they also stole the league title away from their city rivals in the most dramatic of circumstances, following an extremely late come-back victory over QPR on the final day of the season.
