Rangers fans were frustrated after their side lost to Hamilton Academical in the league during the side’s midweek fixture. David Moyo won the match for the away side in the 56th minute.
But, while the fans would have been disappointed with the result regardless of the circumstance, the fact that Steven Gerrard’s side recorded 31 shots during the match had some fans shaking their heads.
This statistic sparked The Athletic’s Jordan Campbell to publish an article that explained how Rangers’ conversion rate had dropped to below 8%. He also explains how Celtic convert around 20% of their chances.
Many other Rangers fans on Twitter expressed their frustration at their club’s inability to finish their chances, despite appearing to have complete control of Wednesday’s match.

31 shots – 9 on target.
16 corners
69% possession
Nobody standing up to make any of it count. That’s the issue.

31 shots only 9 on target pathetic

31 shots at goal tonight. Hamilton score from a deflection off Davis and a stupid attempted pass back from Goldson. Individual errors once again from the same players who have been immense in certain games earlier in the season. Frustrating is an understatement

31 shots and only 9 on target?? Against a team we’ve taken 12 goals from this season already.

31 shots apparently, shockingly bad. pic.twitter.com/s3s9fSWQ1J

Is poor finishing Rangers' biggest issue?
Yes
No
What do we think?
Not only did Rangers record 31 shots to Hamilton Academical’s eight, they also bossed 69% of possession and won 16 corners.
It is quite clear that Rangers should have taken more away from the match with the number of chances they created.
