Some Celtic fans have been left talking about the latest transfer update involving veteran player Jonny Hayes.
FootballInsider247 have recently reported that Celtic are planning for the upcoming Premiership season and Hayes is in line to be handed a new deal at Parkhead. The report says that the Hoops are expecting to offer Hayes a contract extension but Craig Gordon is set to be released.

This season, Hayes has made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops. He has scored one goal and that goal came against Rangers in the Old Firm earlier in the season. He has made 14 appearances in the Premiership.
Hayes, who is valued at £675k (as per Transfermarkt), had joined the Hoops from Aberdeen in the summer of 2017 on an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract. His current deal runs out in the summer of 2020.
What do we think?
Since joining, Hayes has made 68 appearances in all competitions and has scored two goals. As per Transfermarkt, he has played at left-back multiple times this season and it shows that he has earned the trust of Neil Lennon despite the club having left-backs in Boli Bolingoli and Greg Taylor already. In that sense, one can see why Celtic are handing him a new deal.
