Some Celtic fans have been left talking by the latest comments that UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin gave about the suspension of the European leagues.

Ceferin insisted (via Daily Record) that the idea about domestic leagues in Europe being declared finished at this very point is ‘fake’. He went on to say that the target for UEFA is to finish the leagues.

He said: “I’ve seen and heard some again fake news that UEFA will advise leagues to finish the championships now and decide that the winners are the ones who are number one now.

“I can say that it’s not true. Our goal is to finish the leagues and we didn’t recommend anything like that to any association or league.”

Which club did Celtic sign Dembele from?

The Premiership was suspended last week because of the ongoing pandemic outbreak. The decision came just days before Celtic’s Old Firm derby against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.

What do we think?

The comments of Celtic fans show that they have mixed feelings about the situation. Some don’t believe what Ceferin says, while others do want the Hoops to potentially win the Premiership by playing out the rest of the season at some point.

It remains to be seen what really happens, but Celtic will be in an advantageous situation because of their 13-point lead. If there is anyone who is closer to winning the title, it is Neil Lennon’s men. If the league goes on, they can seal the title soon by winning their games.
