Some Celtic fans have been debating the latest transfer update involving the club’s central defender Kristoffer Ajer recently.
Calciomercato has recently reported that Celtic have put up an asking price of €40 million (£36 million) on the Norwegian defender’s head. The report also states that Milan are interested in Ajer and want him to replace Mateo Musacchio soon.
Is Ajer even worth £36 million?
Not a chance
Yea, he is good enough for that
Read Celtic recently relayed this information on Twitter, revealing Celtic’s asking price for Ajer. But the information left many Celtic fans surprised as they believe the £36 million fee is a big valuation for Ajer. Some made it clear they’d be happy to let him leave.

This season, Ajer has made 49 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops. 28 of them have come in the Premiership, where he has played 2,508 minutes of first-team football.
What do we think?
Ajer’s agent has suggested to Norwegian news agency NTB (via Sporten) that the player will leave the club in the summer and he isn’t extending his deal at Parkhead.
£36 million would allow Celtic to make a huge profit on the £540k that they spent on him back in 2016. Getting such a vast sum from his sale will allow them to reinvest in someone to replace him.
