Some Celtic fans have been hailing the latest comments of Leigh Griffiths about the upcoming Old Firm Derby at Ibrox.

Griffiths recently grabbed a sensational hat-trick for the Hoops against St. Mirren in the Premiership, helping the side to a 5-0 win on Saturday. This took Celtic 16 points clear at the top until Rangers beat Ross County on Sunday to cut the lead short to 13 points once again.

After the game, Griffiths spoke to the Daily Record about the upcoming clash at Ibrox. He said that he was ‘born for Ibrox’ and emphasised on how he’s never lost away to Rangers with Celtic.

Should Griffiths start against Rangers?

No question about it

The Celticbible relayed these comments on Twitter and it got many Hoops fans talking. They could only hail Griffiths for it.

This season, Griffiths has scored 11 times in all competitions now and has four assists to his name. He has now scored nine goals in the Premiership, picking up all his assists in league action.

Griffiths is currently valued at £1.80 million by Transfermarkt.

What do we think?

Griffiths is right to be proud of his record against Rangers, considering he has scored four times and has also picked up three assists against them. It shows why Griffiths will be full of confidence at Ibrox and his comments go onto suggest just that.
