Some Birmingham City supporters have been reacting to Scott Hogan’s post-match tweet following the Blues’ weekend loss to Reading.

Hogan scored Birmingham City’s only goal as The Blues suffered a 3-1 loss to Reading this past Saturday. Last weekend’s defeat saw Birmingham’s 10-game unbeaten Championship run come to an end, as the Blues suffered their first Championship loss since New Year’s Day

Hogan put his side in the lead, scoring the opening goal of the game in the sixth minute of Saturday’s fixture. His goal at the weekend was the Republic of Ireland international’s seventh Championship goal for the Blues since joining on loan from Birmingham’s local rivals Aston Villa in the January transfer window.

The January loan signing has played just eight Championship games for Birmingham City so far this season, however, his Championship goals tally of seven since joining The Blues makes him the club’s second-highest goalscorer for the 2019/20 Championship campaign.

The 27-year-old took to Twitter in the wake of Saturday’s loss to share his disappointment at the result of the Blues’ recent game, before reassuring Birmingham City fans that the aim is to get “back on track next time”. Read the reactions of some Blues supporters to Hogan’s recent post-match message in the tweets below.

Who is the oldest player to make an appearance in the Championship this season?

What do we think?

Having scored seven goals in eight Championship appearances so far for the Blues, in addition to making one assist, it may be understandable why some Birmingham City fans have quickly taken a shine to Hogan.

Should Hogan, who is valued at £3.6 million (as per Transfermarkt), continue his impressive goalscoring form for the Blues, we may see plenty of Birmingham City fans call for the club to make the 27-year-old’s move permanent in the upcoming summer transfer window.
