Supporters of Wolverhampton Wanderers have been reacting to quotes made by Nuno Espirito Santo which were relayed by Tim Spiers.
In an interview with Sky, the Portuguese stated that he “doesn’t agree” with playing football behind closed doors and that Wolves are “not happy to go” to Olympiakos on Thursday (per Tim Spiers), which fans agreed with. They made their opinions clear on social media.
Nuno on Sky: "If we have to go (to Olympiakos) we will. But we don't agree – we're not happy to go.
"I don't agree with playing football behind closed doors. The main origin of football is to entertain. If the fans cannot attend, what's the point? This is bigger than football."

Man is spot on. Having a game behind closed doors shows that they care more about having the game go ahead so sponsors and gambling companies can still get paid but don’t give a damn really about the fan who creates the atmosphere and the spectacle

Should Thursday's game with Olympiakos be postponed until a later date?Yes, for everyone's safetyNo, they should get it played |
In a previous update from the Athletic journalist, Spiers revealed that Wolves had appealed to UEFA to have the game postponed (per Tim Spiers), which Nuno Santo’s comments appear to back up.
As of yet, though, the game is set to be played behind closed doors on Thursday (per Wolves), however, supporters were on their gaffer’s side.
Tell em Nuno…

Agreed. A spectator sport with no spectators is ridiculous. But hey, football has long stopped caring about the real fans.

To help stop the spreading globally flights need grounding for 2 weeks at least. Cant make sense of passengers possibly carrying the virus being allowed to travel in a compressed vessel to incubate. Then potentially spread.

What do we think?
As previously stated, the game is currently set to go ahead behind closed doors (per Wolves), however, after the news that Olympiakos’ owner Evangelos Marinakis tested positive for coronavirus (per The Guardian) the tie seemed in doubt (per Tim Spiers). However, it’s now set to go ahead after UEFA rejected Wolves’ proposal.
Whatever the decision made by the two clubs and UEFA, it should solely be done on the consideration of the safety of players, staff and supporters.
