Spurs fans have been reacting to the news that the FA have reportedly begun investigations into Eric Dier following the incident which occurred after the FA Cup defeat against Norwich City on Wednesday night.
According to Evening Standard journalist Dan Kilpatrick on Twitter, both Spurs and the FA have started investigating the incident, which saw the 26-year-old climb into the stands following the game in order to confront a fan.
The England international reportedly spotted his brother arguing with a fan who had been aiming some abuse Dier’s way, although the ‘fan’ was quick to run away when he spotted the former Sporting Lisbon man climbing towards him.
No player should be abused by their own fans, but it was especially surprising as the defender was arguably one of Spurs’ best performers on the evening, earning an impressive 7.55 match rating from WhoScored.
Do you think Dier deserves a ban?
Yes
No

There was no incident, after work a bloke saw his brother being attacked and stepped in to stop it, if you don’t understand this there is nothing to be said to help you to do so. Any decent man would have done the same. #COYS

These Spurs fans seem to be of the opinion that Dier did nothing wrong and feel that a ban would be harsh.

What do we think?
Dier is perhaps lucky that the fan decided to flee before there was any physical altercation as that would have perhaps made any potential ban significantly worse.
