Spurs fans have been discussing a tweet from former Lilywhites midfielder Rafael van der Vaart, in which he discusses a goal he scored against Aston Villa.
Spurs’ official Twitter page posted some footage of the Dutch midfielder’s goal from a 2-1 win against the Villans from 2010 and van der Vaart later commented on the goal on his own Twitter page. He wrote: “Yes by using Bale’s and Lennon’s speed we were also lethal on the break #nicethattheguyswaitforyourarrival“
Spurs originally signed the creative midfielder from Real Madrid in 2010 and he went on to make 77 appearances for the North London club; contributing 28 goals and 18 assists. After leaving the Premier League in 2012 to join Hamburger SV, he moved around Europe before retiring in 2018.

These Spurs fans clearly enjoyed the footage of the Dutchman’s goal against Villa.
What do we think?
It was a great finish from van der Vaart and although he was only at Spurs for a couple of years, he still seems to be a fan favourite for his contributions in those two seasons.
