A lot of Newcastle United fans are concerned about the future of Matty Longstaff after Lee Ryder revealed that an unnamed ‘ambitious’ European club have made an offer to the 19-year-old, and they are keen for him to join up with them in July.
The report also says that the Toon do not have plans to hold talks with either Matty or his older brother Sean in the next week or so.
Will Newcastle sort out Matty Longstaff's contract?
Yes, they will do it
No, they will blow it
This has baffled many Toon fans who have responded to this story.

If he was my son I would tell him to get out asap
The club is going nowhere under bruce and ashley— locallad (@northernoutlaw) March 1, 2020
Better than Benteleb and on much less money. If Matty leaves you can guarantee they’ll pay more wages than he wants to someone who isn’t as good.

Lee it’s been in the balance for months. You know, like Rafa’s was.

He’s off in summer. Club don’t want to give him a contract & why would he stay at a relegated club?

We lost Rondon last year because investing that much in a player that old was deemed bad financial sense. Now we can’t agree a deal with a youngster. Is it possible the club just haven’t moved with the market rates. How many other clubs lose their youngsters cis they won’t pay

Matty Longstaff needs to stay at #NUFC. NUFC needs to develop homegrown talent. A strong development academy will help NUFC be more competitive in the PL instead of always fighting to stay above relegation zone. Club could be less dependent on transfers with strong academy.

He’ll be crucial for promotion. Be silly to let him go.

What do we think?
Matty is Newcastle’s joint third-highest goalscorer in all competitions this season, despite playing just 13 games for the Toon.
The fact that they still have not signed him up to a new deal could be considered madness.
The 19-year-old’s deal expires at the end of the season and has been free to talk to other clubs outside of the UK since February.
Yet, the Toon have still not sorted out a new contract, and they could end up losing him for around £400k in the summer.
