A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from their club dedicated to Shay Given.
To celebrate St Patrick’s Day, the Toon released a compilation video of the former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper who made a staggering 448 appearances for Newcastle.
This video has attracted a lot of attention from these Toon fans who loved Given.

What do we think?
This compilation includes a selection of the Irishman’s most exceptional stops, and it is good to see that the club are giving him the recognition that we think he deserves.
Given was with Newcastle for their UEFA Champions League campaigns during the 1997/98 and 2002/03 seasons and stayed until 2009 when Manchester City bought him in the winter with the Toon in 15th place.
Is Shay Given Newcastle's best goalkeeper?
Yes
No
They were later relegated that season, and Given went on to play for Aston Villa and Stoke City before retiring in 2017.
However, what better way to celebrate St Patrick’s Day than by releasing a compilation video of the 134-cap former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper.
