Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays news that Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane are both back in first-team training ahead of Wednesday night’s Premier League game against Arsenal.

De Bruyne, who arrived at City from Wolfsburg in 2015, has been in remarkable form for the Citizens this season, scoring nine goals and providing an incredible 18 assists over his 34 appearances in all competitions.

The Belgian midfielder, who is valued at £135 million, has averaged a WhoScored match rating of 7.92 in 26 league appearances, a figure that not only ranks him as Manchester City’s best performer this season, but also the Premier League’s.

The 28-year-old missed Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester United having picked up an injury in the League Cup final win over Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, Sane has missed the entirety of this season after suffering an ACL injury in Manchester City’s Community Shield victory over Liverpool back in August.

However, Pep Guardiola recently confirmed that both De Bruyne and Sane are back in first-team training – news that has delighted fans of Manchester City, who have taken to Twitter.

City broke the all-time points record in the 17/18 Premier League season, but how many points did the champions finish that season on?

What do we think?

With Manchester City’s second-leg Champions League tie against Real Madrid coming up next week, Pep Guardiola may not want to rush either De Bruyne or Sane back too soon.

Given that City are currently 25 points behind league leaders Liverpool, the interests of their manager will likely be solely on securing a Champions League victory.
